| it is with great sadness that I announce the death, last
Jan, 7, 2007, of Oscar Verbanck ON5ME, 65 years old, IS QRP#058

| Oscar was a well known, in Belgium and in Europe
too, CW operator, always present at many CW Contests. |
| ON5ME has been the Chairman of EUCW from 1991
to 2006, and invited our Association to Join EUCW in 2005.
The same year he joined Sardinia QRP Club. He was also the
president of the EHSC (Telegrapy Extremely High Speed Club). |
| I talked with him just once, by phone, in english
and a little Italian ? he knew. I’m sorry I never met
him before he left us. |
| The sad new came from UBA (Union Belge des
Amateurs). |
